“I realised I had none of that stability before. Now I’m in a safe environment where I can identify my challenges and have somebody beside me to work through them—that’s why you’re seeing the results.”
Tenielle spent eight years in media before recognising she’d hit a ceiling. In September 2022, she left her corporate role, travelling briefly before returning to rebuild from scratch. After facing four months without income which was “terrifying with a mortgage and family”, she joined Locate in March 2023.
“I became the networking queen of Brisbane, attending any event and latching onto every connection. Sometimes when you reach a certain point, it’s good to return to basics and remember what fundamentals got you here.”
Working with agency principal Shane, Tenielle implemented a quadrant approach identifying gaps between current and future states. She focused on rebuilding her network while developing daily mindset practices and weekly mentoring.
“BAI has been a responsive community that changes everything. Find people who keep you on track, show up, participate, and leverage the knowledge available to you.”
Tenielle values real estate’s autonomy while appreciating her team environment. Her vision is ambitious, described simply as “global”, as she regularly shares new ideas with her mentor.
“In corporate, you might be stuck for years in one position. In real estate, you can always evolve. If I don’t deliver, clients don’t get results—it starts and ends with my output, both exciting and terrifying.”
