“I came across the buyer’s agent role and thought, this is perfect. There’s a gap in the market.”
Tegan began in real estate sales from 2004 to 2008 before raising her children. She later built an e-commerce clothing business, scaling to $180,000 in monthly revenue with three staff and a factory. Despite this success, managing seasonal inventory and rising online competition during COVID led her to look for a new direction.
Rather than traditional networking, Tegan used her marketing experience to create engaging social media content, sharing property walkthroughs and market insights that showed her expertise.
“I just film all day long. It gave me authority before I really had any.”
This strategy has paid dividends, with agents now reaching out to her to film listings, and mortgage brokers travelling hours just to meet her after discovering her online.
“BAI gave me the framework to hit the ground running. If you follow the instructions and work hard, it happens. I’m surprised at how quickly I’ve been able to take off.”
Tegan’s goal is to become the number one buyers agent in the Sutherland Shire. She envisions eventually building a team and establishing an office to cement her presence in the area.
“Let go of fear about whether people use buyers agents in your area or if there are too many competitors. Focus on what you want to do, be clear about it, and just get to work.”
