“I feel like I can add more value at the higher price point. The top end of the market has very few players that help buyers, and I want to be one of those people known for adding value and getting the job done.”
Andrew’s journey began after co-founding a charity in the US that raised over $10 million for multiple sclerosis. Returning to Australia in 2010, he started as a personal assistant in real estate before becoming a selling agent and auctioneer.
After observing how heavily the industry favoured sellers, Andrew founded Industry Insider in 2015. He built his brand primarily through social media and referrals, leveraging digital marketing skills he’d developed during his charity work.
“The industry was heavily favoured towards the sellers – the rules, regulations, quoting, agents, representation. I decided to explore Melbourne and help buyers to level the playing field.”
Industry Insider now focuses on six key regions including Boroondara, Stonnington, Port Phillip, Glen Eira, Kingston, and the Mornington Peninsula. Andrew’s relationships with selling agents gives his clients a significant advantage in negotiations.
“BAI has done a great job over the last five to eight years bringing awareness to the buyer’s agent space.”
Andrew aims to establish himself in Melbourne’s prestige property market, focusing on quality over quantity. While he once managed 21 buyers simultaneously during 2021’s hot market, he’s now deliberately targeting higher-value transactions.
“When you go to that higher level, the volume is lower. I’m not stressed because I’ve got good clients at a higher price point, so it takes longer to transact.”
