“I realised that some people bought property from me when I was in sales not because they’re rich, but because I provided value to them. I shared knowledge about tax laws and other aspects of property investment.”
Shuai’s journey began when he immigrated to Australia in 2008 during the GFC after graduating from a top maritime university in China. Initially studying environmental engineering in Tasmania, he struggled with English and financial hardship before securing a mining engineering position that left him unfulfilled despite the steady income.
His interest in property was sparked when his landlord revealed he owned 40 properties that were essentially being paid off by tenants. After making his own property investment mistakes, including a significant loss that affected his health, Shuai had a revelation while recovering from surgery.
“I never thought about a buyer’s agency, but this is exactly what I want to do. I want to help people use property as a vehicle to generate wealth.”
Launching his business during the pandemic forced Shuai to think differently about client acquisition. He focused on creating valuable content through YouTube, now receiving 5-8 consultation requests weekly without making cold calls. His clients are 70% from Sydney and Melbourne with 30% from other locations.
“BAI gave me the framework to hit the ground running. Without it, I wouldn’t have had the clarity to grow this fast.”
Now with an assistant and plans to hire additional team members, Shuai aims to scale his business beyond the limitations of his personal capacity while maintaining his focus on serving the Chinese community across Australia.
“People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care. I don’t sell my service to everyone – only to those who truly need my help.”
