“I think like most Australians, once we get a taste of property, we can be heavily obsessed. It started with our first purchase for a family home back in 2016, and from there it spiralled out of control.”
While working for civil construction company Fulton Hogan managing environmental compliance for infrastructure projects, Mitch developed crucial systems and problem-solving skills. He spotted his opportunity during COVID lockdowns when Sydney buyers couldn’t inspect Central Coast properties.
“We take responsibility on our own shoulders. We don’t blame that people never understand the value. We get out there and educate local property buyers and partners like agents, accountants, and brokers.”
Initially facing resistance from local agents unfamiliar with buyer’s agents, Mitch focused on relationship-building. He’s now secured a reputation for accessing off-market properties, with 80% of purchases through these channels – crucial in today’s market where sub-million dollar properties are “red hot” with multiple bidders.
“BAI gave me the framework and confidence to build this business. Without it, I wouldn’t have had the clarity to grow this fast.”
Mitch leads by example while empowering his team to make decisions. He’s transitioning to handling higher-end transactions in the $6-7 million residential range and commercial properties, while his team manages other segments. Recently, the agency launched an exclusive off-market portal for additional client value.
“It’s about being laser-focused on the vision, blocking out the noise, and staying disciplined in your daily actions.”
