“I love it when people look at you and go, ‘You know what, Mal, that wouldn’t have happened if you weren’t involved.’ That’s why I get out of bed in the morning.”
Disillusioned with the “Wild West” practices he witnessed in traditional real estate, he moved to buyer advocacy where he found stronger client relationships. His innovative property rating system evaluates the “PPPs” (price, property, position), bringing unprecedented transparency to the market.
About six years ago, Mal recognised that clients who had purchased with him were seeking advice when selling. This evolved into a formal selling advocacy service that now represents nearly 50% of his business. His approach includes three service tiers, from agent selection to complete management of multi-agent campaigns.
“People don’t want to hire a buyer agent, buy well, and then sell poorly. If you make good decisions buying, why would you throw that away with poor decision-making when selling?”
While Mal experimented with growing his team multiple times, he ultimately chose to maintain a smaller, focused operation. This allows him to deliver higher quality advice while maintaining work-life balance, including adventure travel to destinations like Everest Base Camp and Kilimanjaro.
“BAI gave me the framework to hit the ground running. Without it, I wouldn’t have had the clarity to grow this fast.”
