“I really feel like I’ve found my purpose. I now know what my ‘why’ is, and that’s helping people achieve the dream of home ownership.”
Kristen’s property journey began at 23 when he purchased his first home while working as a mental health nurse. Though he admits making mistakes with that initial purchase, these experiences became valuable lessons he now shares with clients. After launching his buyer’s agency at age 36, Kristen spent four months “banging his head against a brick wall” before securing his first client in May 2022. Since that breakthrough, he’s maintained at least three clients consistently and achieved remarkable results, including helping one client gain 10.7% equity (nearly $200,000) within five months.
“I don’t come off like a salesperson. I use emotional intelligence to help clients modulate their emotions throughout the journey.”
Kristen’s approach is centred on emotional support. He recalls clients who had been searching for three years before engaging his services and were ready to give up after multiple disappointments. His persistence led them to purchase just two days before Christmas.
“BAI gave me the framework to hit the ground running. Without it, I wouldn’t have had the clarity to grow this fast.”
Looking ahead, Kristen plans to expand Johnson Property Co by bringing on team members who share his values, with the goal of helping more people buy in Sydney’s Inner West and potentially expanding to other areas.
“If you’re going to do it, run at it 100%. Real estate isn’t a nine-to-five job. It’s somewhat all-consuming, but if you give it your all, it’s really rewarding.”
