“I thoroughly enjoyed working with buyers more so than vendors. This side is more fulfilling because you’re actually helping people. They appreciate what you’re doing, whereas on the sales side, you’d be told to F off all the time.”
Emma’s property journey began early, purchasing her first property before turning 21. After renovating and selling it, she’s now working on her second property while helping clients find their dream homes. Her four years of experience on the sales side gives her an advantage when negotiating with agents.
“I’ve got that advantage of knowing how selling agents work, how their brains work, and different negotiation strategies. I can read through their bullshit because I’ve been there.”
Emma’s approach is refreshingly direct. She prioritises transparency with clients, providing blunt advice even when it means walking away from potential deals. This approach has earned her tremendous respect from clients who appreciate her integrity.
Working at Universal, Emma has helped build a collaborative culture where agents share opportunities rather than compete. Her team handles properties across Brisbane within a 30-40 kilometre radius, from affordable townhouses to multi-million dollar homes.
Emma aims to own three to four properties within the next two years, leveraging her renovation skills to build equity and eventually achieve financial freedom.
“Real estate is a lifestyle, not really a job. You’ve got to love it and want to be in it to actually succeed, because it does spit a lot of people out.”
