“I’m enjoying bringing things to the community that don’t really exist. There’s only a few of us down here, creating different conversations every day.”
David began in retail management, leading hundreds of employees across various age groups. This experience instilled strong leadership skills and a passion for helping others succeed. His property journey started after a financial setback in his twenties, when his father encouraged him to buy his first home.
Over the past decade, David and his wife built their own property portfolio, driven by his passion for studying land cycles. This personal interest evolved into professional guidance as friends and family sought his advice.
“I put a plan and vision in place, knowing I needed to incrementally build steps to start successfully. Coming from a large corporation, I value process-driven approaches.”
David’s business combines local expertise with comprehensive service, offering not just property acquisition but also connections to schools and healthcare – particularly valuable for the 40% of clients relocating from mainland Australia. His client base has shifted from 80/20 local-to-interstate in 2022 to 60/40 in 2023, with February 2023 marking his biggest month.
“BAI gave me what I was looking for. I dived into the program for 12 months before applying my skillset towards it.”
Looking ahead, David aims to continue educating Tasmanians about buyer representation while maintaining his current markets.
“It’s the best job in the world. Meeting new people and experiencing such diversity is just remarkable.”
