“I called a client last Tuesday after we purchased a property in Roselle. We got a three-bedroom semi when we only expected to afford a two-bedroom within budget. Those moments keep me coming back.”
After 12 years at Michael Page International, Chris was hesitant to leave corporate security. His journey began with his own negative experience purchasing a property sight unseen from Singapore. Watching his brother Simon’s success gave Chris the confidence to make the leap himself.
Chris launched his business focusing on Sydney’s Inner West, Lower North Shore, and Eastern Suburbs. His approach emphasizes thorough due diligence rather than rushing transactions. This patient strategy initially made for a challenging start in early 2023.
“There wasn’t one moment I went to bed thinking of giving up. I came into this to be highly ethical and stand firm to my values.”
Business networking has been crucial, with approximately 40% of his revenue coming from BNI (Business Network International) referrals. He’s now expanded his team to include a social media specialist, remote assistant, and part-time associate.
“BAI gave me the framework to hit the ground running. Without it, I wouldn’t have had the clarity to grow this fast.”
Looking ahead to 2024, Chris plans to maintain his current business structure while his son starts high school before potentially expanding further.
“I wouldn’t change it. No way I’d ever go back to any corporate role. This industry is amazing, I’ve had clients and myself cry on shoulders at auctions when we win a property.”
