“I wanted to use my mind more than my body. In construction, it’s probably seven-to-six. I wanted something more and to get out of that grind. There was something in my brain that just switched. I’ve only got so much time on this earth, so I might as well do something I enjoy.”
Rob spent seven years in construction before a personal tragedy in 2021 became his catalyst for change, making him realise life was too short not to pursue his passion for property.
Despite having no business background or family mentors, Rob committed to personal development. He launched Lux with a hybrid model offering services to owner-occupiers in Melbourne, investors across Australia, and vendor advocacy. His construction expertise became his unique selling proposition.
“I feel that construction translates well to real estate because I know what materials I’m working with and what issues may arise in a property.”
He’s built a reputation for going above and beyond for clients, working late hours and building strong relationships that generate referrals.
“With BAI, I’ve put a lot of time into personal development. You need to know what you’re speaking about because clients are paying you a lot of money.”
Having achieved significant success part-time, Rob is now ready to dedicate himself entirely to Lux Buyer’s Agents, focusing on prospecting and scaling his business.
“You’ve got to be in an uncomfortable position to get somewhere. Being in your comfort zone is not going to get you anywhere in life.”
