“I’m actually more comfortable in this industry than I was playing football. In terms of mental stimulation and job satisfaction, this far outweighs what I’ve done before.”
Jamie’s journey began during his football career, where he completed several development projects while playing. After retiring from the Brisbane Lions, where he played in four consecutive grand finals, Jamie opened a Ray White agency before identifying an opportunity in the buyer’s agent space.
When COVID hit shortly after launching his business, calls started flooding in from his network, particularly from Singaporean and Hong Kong contacts looking to return to Australia. His extensive relationships became the foundation of his business.
“It’s always been relationship focused. That’s why I tell my advisors all the time, it’s just about relationships. It’s probably the reason why we’ve transacted multiple times for different clients here in Brisbane.”
Jamie’s approach focuses on maintaining a boutique service, deliberately limiting his client numbers to ensure personalised attention. By working with no more than eight clients at once, his team can deliver results quickly while maintaining daily communication.
“We’re sitting about 85% off-market transactions. We try to be a buyer’s agent that finds things no one else can find or no one else can see.”
Having expanded into property management with 65 properties under management in just one year, Jamie aims to strategically grow while maintaining the boutique nature of his business.
“For us, it’s not about getting huge. With buyer’s agencies, boutique works and independent works. If you get too big, you start to get crossover of your own clients within the business.”
